As a neuroscientist I am specialized in neuroimaging (MRI) in the field of human psychiatry. Currently I am working as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig, Germany at the Max-Planck Fellow-group of Dr. Florian Schlagenhauf "Cognitive and Affective Control of Behavioral Adaptation". There we focus on behavioral adaptation by using computational modeling on decision making processes. We apply our research in healthy samples as well as psychiatric disorders such as addiction, binge-eating, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

October 15th 2013 I defended my PhD-thesis "Alcohol dependence across the brain; from vulnerability to compulsive drinking" at the VU University in Amsterdam.

In the summer of 2013 I have visited the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging in Boston, MA, USA, a collaboration between Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Massachusetts General Hospital. At the lab of Dr. Steven Stufflebeam, I worked with Dr. Linda Douw on Resting State fMRI data analyses looking at complex brain networks according to the graph theory.
