| What is MPG.PuRe? |
| "PuRe" stands for "Publication Repository". MPG.PuRe is the institutional publication repository of the Max Planck Society (MPG). The Max Planck Institutes (MPI) make the bibliographic data (title, author, publisher, etc.) of their scientific publications available to the public here. In addition, PuRe supports the green road to Open Access and offers the possibility to upload full texts or supplementary material (e.g. PDF, Excel).
The visibility of the stored data is increased by search engine indexation (e.g. Google, Google Scholar, BASE, OpenAIRE, etc.). Interfaces allow a wide range of reuse options, for example for different websites, reports, blogs or the MPG yearbook. MPG.PuRe is a central service of the MPDL. It is based on the Open Source Software PubMan which is continuously developed and improved by the MPDL. |

In den meisten Max-Planck-Instituten gibt mindestens eine Person, die für PuRe zuständig ist. Der MPG.PuRe-Support führt die Registrierung weiterer Personen auf Nachfrage durch. Dies erfolgt allerdings ausschließlich in Rücksprache mit den zuständigen Personen am betroffenen Institut. |
| Who can enter publications in MPG.PuRe? |
| Die Institute enscheiden selbst über den für sie passenden Workflow zur Dateneingabe in PuRe. Die Eingabe erfolgt oft durch die lokale Bilbiothek, kann aber z.B. auch durch Personen aus der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Gruppenleiter, Assistenzen oder Sekretariate erledigt werden. In einigen Fällen sind auch die Wissenschaftler des MPI selbst in den Prozess eingebunden.

| Ob ein Volltext hochgeladen wird und welcher Gruppe dieser zur Verfügung steht, entscheiden die jeweiligen Max-Planck-Institute.
Wenn Ihnen kein Volltext zum herunterladen angeboten wird, können Sie das Institut (z. B. die Bibliothek) direkt kontaktieren. Sollte der jeweilige Ansprechpartner nicht klar ersichtlich sein, können Sie sich gerne an den MPG.PuRe-Support wenden. |
| Who can access uploaded full texts? |
| Öffentlich geteilte Volltexte sind für jeden Internetnutzer frei zugänglich.
Manche Dateien sind ausschließlich im IP-Bereich einzelner Institute oder der gesamten MPG zugänglich (Sichtbarkeit: "eingeschränkt"). "Private" Dateien können nur mit Moderatoren-Accounts des betreffenden Instituts geöffnet werden. |

| Are research data also made available via MPG.PuRe? |
| Vereinzelt befinden sich auch Forschungsdaten in MPG.PuRe, das sind jedoch eher Ausnahmen. MPG.PuRe ist für Publikationsdaten konzipiert und optimiert. Sollten Sie Forschungsdaten suchen oder veröffentlichen wollen, dann sind ausgewiesene Forschungsdaten-Repositorien eine bessere Wahl. Diese sind oft disziplinspezifisch.
Es gibt aber auch ein Forschungsdaten Repositorium der Max Planck Gesellschaft das Open Access Data Repository Edmond. |
