Discussion[edit]
First draft of the LTA migration manual: Wege ins Archiv: Ein Leitfaden für die Informationsübernahme in das digitale Langzeitarchiv, version 1 (Entwurf zur öffentlichen Kommentierung), herausgegeben von der nestor-Arbeitsgruppe "Standards für Metadaten, Transfer von Objekten in digitale Langzeitarchive und Objektzugriff" can be found here.
The following structure of the manual has been presented:
- Objects: Tobias Steinke, Deutsche Nationalbibliothek
- Processes: Dr. Christian Keitel, Landesarchiv Baden-Würtemberg
- Management: Tobias Beinert, BSB; Jens Ludwig, SUB Göttingen
The main idea of the manual is drifting from the formal and technical (like OAIS) to the human intuitive understandable definitions (emphasizing the institutional aspects).
Objetcs[edit]
Noteworthily:
- Concept of the
significant metadata
(wesentliche Eigentshaften
) to be identified on the very earlier stage metadata analyze and to be stored unchanged for next migrations (or very thoroughly and unambiguously migrated) in the Object metadata.
Processes[edit]
Noteworthily:
- Concept of the
transfer package
- Validation (main methods of validations)
