i think oai-ore hightlights once more, that being in the business of web-publishing means minting stable HTTP URLs. so we should take oai-ore as incentive to clean up our URL space and get it future-proof.--Robert 13:48, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

new features possible with linked data[edit]

if all resources we put on the web would have a stable HTTP URL, we could use oai-ore to describe boundaries of compound objects; and yes, the beauty of HTTP URLs is that the access mechanism is baked in, so being able to follow your nose through the linked data web (just using curl or wget or a browser) may create the feeling of a continuum. But to make sure we don't create multiple disconnected continua, care must be taken to link to remainder of the web - at least by using common vocabularies. But again, with stable HTTP URLs it will be easy (for anyone) to supply these links, e.g. by annotating our resources, which would be as easy as publishing an RDF statement.--Robert 17:54, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
