The opening session, web of data 101 should two things:
* You (even as an individual) can contribute to the web of data right now,
* but rdf (even in turtle format) shouldn't be written by hand.
The session did also showcase an instance of software-as-a-service, the [http://www.talis.com/platform/index.shtml talis platform]. For data that must be available on the web, using such a service is an alternative to using a conventional backend and building a custom bridge for the data to the web. It may be worth exploring this service for data like the Living Reviews registers.

Due to extensive coverage of the workshop online, this trip report will focus on personal notes.

The opening session, web of data 101 should two things:

  • You (even as an individual) can contribute to the web of data right now,
  • but rdf (even in turtle format) shouldn't be written by hand.

The session did also showcase an instance of software-as-a-service, the talis platform.
