I work in the Department of Botany of the National Museum, Federal Unievrsity of Rio de Janeiro, where Full Professor. I had a doctorate in Botany (Taxonomy of Cryptogams)) at the São Paulo University, post-doctorate at the University of Copenhagen in morpho-taxonomy and geographical distribution of Chrysophyta and in the Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo Resource Environments Costeros (Chile) in a molecular systematic of harmful algae. I work as a teacher in the graduate course in Biological Sciences and post-graduation in Biological Sciences (Botany) of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to Curator of the Collection of Cryptogams of the Herbarium of the National Museum (R).
