* genres series and journal: There should be no date in the citation, as it is not logical for these genres. At the moment, it is not possible to give a date for journal or series, and so the citations look ok. But it the case of pre-existing items (and possibly also imported items) that do have a date in their MD, this date is exported in the citation. Please specify how these "problematic" items need to be handled.

Changes in APA for R5[edit]

Overall changes[edit]

  • all genres: Add a comma before the ampersand in editors. For example, by book chapter, following citation is exported: Levinson, S. C. (2003). Contextualizing 'contextualization cues'. In S. Eerdmans, C. Prevignano & P. Thibault (Eds.), Language and interaction: Discussions with John J. Gumperz (pp. 31-39). Amsterdam: John Benjamins. (there should be an additional comma before "& P. Thibault")
  • genres series and journal: There should be no date in the citation, as it is not logical for these genres. At the moment, it is not possible to give a date for journal or series, and so the citations look ok. But it the case of pre-existing items (and possibly also imported items) that do have a date in their MD, this date is exported in the citation. Please specify how these "problematic" items need to be handled.
  • include Edition into the citation for Book Chapter and Book
  • submitted publications

citation should like this: Author, A. A. (2009). Title of publication. Submitted for publication. Now, there is no date in brackets and the journal title is mentioned which should not be given.--Karin 20:39, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
