Due to extensive coverage of the workshop online, this trip report will focus on personal notes.
The opening session, web of data 101 should two things:
- You (even as an individual) can contribute to the web of data right now,
- but rdf (even in turtle format) shouldn't be written by hand.
The session did also showcase an instance of software-as-a-service, the talis platform. For data that must be available on the web, using such a service is an alternative to using a conventional backend and building a custom bridge for the data to the web. It may be worth exploring this service for data like the Living Reviews registers.
