2009-01-27: Expertenworkshop "Wie kann die Langzeitarchivierung von Forschungsdaten finanziert werden?" in Göttingen[edit]

Dieser Workshop findet im Rahmen des DFG-Projektes "Kooperative Langzeitarchivierung für Wissenschaftsstandorte" (KoLaWiss)statt. In der Veranstaltung werden Förderempfehlungen zur digitalen Langzeitarchivierung von Forschungsdaten vorgestellt und diskutiert. Der Workshop ist in drei Blöcke unterteilt:

Im ersten Block werden die aus der Projektarbeit gewonnenen Anforderungen an

die Förderung aus verschiednen Perspektiven (z.B. Technik, Kosten, Organisation) mit dem anwesenden Fachpublikum diskutiert.

Im zweiten Block wird der Bogen vom Göttinger KoLaWiss-Projekt zu anderen in

diesem Feld tätigen Projekten und Arbeitsgruppen (AG Forschungsdaten der Allianz Schwerpunktinitiative "Digitale Information", Alliance for Permanent Access sowie PARSE.Insight) geschlagen. In diesen Vorträgen werden die Referenten von ihren Herangehensweisen, Vorstellungen und Ergebnissen zur Förderung der digitalen Langzeitarchivierung von Forschungsdaten berichten und so den Fokus erweitern.

Abschließend werden im dritten Block in einer Podiumsdiskussion die

verschiedenen Ansätze diskutiert. Die Abschlussdiskussion zielt auf die Formulierung von Förderempfehlungen, welche die unterschiedlichen Aspekte gewinnbringend zusammenbringt. Ziel ist hier die Schaffung von Synergieeffekten durch die Einzelziehung unterschiedlicher Herangehensweisen bei der digitalen Langzeitarchivierung von Forschungsdaten.

2009-02-05/06: PREMIS: Preservation Metadata: Implementation Strategies in Rome, Italy[edit]

The workshop aims at developing and spreading awareness and knowledge about metadata to support the long term preservation of digital objects, in particular it focuses on the PREMIS standard, which is managed by the PREMIS Editorial Committee in conjunction with the Library of Congress. PREMIS doesn’t offer a comprehensive solution, but it moves institutions closer to implementation in addressing preservation metadata requirements for long term management of digital objects.

2009-02-19: Workshop zu Standardisierung und Vernetzung von Open-Access-Repositorien für die Wissenschaft in Göttingen[edit]

Die Veranstaltung ist ein Workshop des Projektes "OA-Netzwerk – Netzwerk von Open Access-Repositorien" und findet am 19. Februar 2009 in der Niedersächsischen Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen statt. Sie richtet sich an die technischen und organisatorischen Betreuer von Repositorien. Auch Betreuer, deren Dienste sich noch im Planung und Aufbau befinden, sind herzlich eingeladen.
